Perhaps the most intimidating aspects of home-cooking for your dog are the time it takes, the cost, and worrying about getting the recipe right. Using the nutritional requirements outlined by the National Research Council, I will provide you with a diet for your dog that is easy to make, affordable, and nutritionally balanced.
As with us, the food our dogs eat plays an integral role in their health. Whether your dog is healthy or suffering from allergies or illness, I believe the greatest potential for health is achieved by consuming a balanced diet of fresh food, getting regular exercise and mental stimulation, and minimizing exposure to stress. A fresh, customized diet can prevent diseases of the liver and kidneys, or can be designed to support a dog suffering from these illnesses, and others.
If you’re visiting this page, it’s probably because you already believe that real food is healthier than processed. Whether you’ve always wanted to cook for your dog but have never tried, or you’re doing it now but are not sure the diet you’re providing is balanced, I’d love to help. There is a commitment required from you, and at first it may feel difficult, but you can rest assured that you’ll be feeding a complete diet. After a week or two, it will seem like the most natural thing on earth. Once you’re on track, the time commitment will be approximately 20-30 minutes per batch of food. A batch can last 3-7 days depending on the size of your dog.
First you’ll fill out a questionnaire to tell me about your dog’s breed, age, size and health history. The questionnaire covers other areas as well, such as your dog’s likes, dislikes, allergies, intolerances etc… This information will allow me to choose the correct ingredients and supplementation. You will receive your 7-day diet plan within one week of returning the questionnaire.
Once I’ve sent instructions, your recipe and list of supplements, I’ll be available for questions. After you’ve started feeding the new diet I’ll schedule a follow up within the first week. Throughout the first month we’ll be in touch at least once per week to make sure the plan is agreeing with your dog and that there are no issues.
If for any reason you cannot commit to a 100% home-cooked diet, I would be happy to design a plan that serves as a complimentary addition to a commercial diet. I’ll also provide you with a list of more desirable brands of commercial food. This option is often the most feasible for owners of large and giant breeds. Even a little can go a long way.

Twelve years ago, when I adopted my first dog, Joey, a West Highland Terrier, the notion of feeding him convenience food for a lifetime, just didn’t sit right. Especially with the knowledge that this particular breed is prone to a host of skin issues and health problems. Soon after, I set down the long road to becoming a Canine Dietary Consultant.
Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than witnessing dogs improve and thrive on a diet I’ve created just for them.
Consultation for an adult dog including a seven-day, customized and balanced recipe, detailed instructions, a month of follow-up support, and other useful information: $175 (taxes included)
A puppy consultation begins during the growth period and ends when maturity is reached. Ideally we’ll begin when you bring your puppy home; the diet will be reformulated each time a little weight is gained, so this will need to be monitored closely by you. Please note if you are not beginning the consultation at 10 weeks, the cost can be adjusted accordingly. For puppies 8/10 weeks of age to twelve months: $300 (taxes included)
If you prefer to pay via email money transfer rather than PayPal, they will also be accepted.
